CalArts Cares

CalArts Cares Week is a new initiative to encourage students to give back to the community by volunteering at local charity organizations in Santa Clarita.

CalArts Cares was a series of community service events organized by fellow student council member Justin Jackson and myself, under the guidance of John Stanwyck from the Office of Advancement. I designed the logo using Justin's idea of people holding hands and forming a heart in the negative space; the logo was applied to email banners, the Facebook event cover photo, posters, flyers, and a volunteer t-shirt.

I was in charge of the event at Carousel Ranch, which focuses on equestrian therapy for disabled children. Volunteer students from CalArts helped them paint a ranch themed mural on their Opera House stage, along with other tasks. Pictured below are the students wearing the CalArts Cares volunteer t-shirts.
